mama milk & johnson and johnson

these days there's nothing more appealing to me than the smell of johnson & johnson baby lotion and "mama milk", which can be found in all the little areas on lovie's face and neck. if someone bottled the scent, I'd buy it.

i love the stage he's in right now..

...where he can't get enough to eat, and when he's had his fill, rolls over like an overstuffed man, holds his belly and lets the milk roll off his chin. its in those moments where he let's loose a little smile, and i know that he is content and satisfied...and that pleases mama.

after a long and exhausting two weeks i am adjusting to the new mommy feel.

i am gradually getting used to and loving:

...the 1am, 3am, and 5am feedings

...the way he doesn't want to go back to sleep after eating even if it is the middle of the night and NO ONE is up

...the way i wake every 5 minutes to make sure he's still alive

...the fact that we were so adamant to enforce crib sleeping and yet he hasn't left our bed since he came home (and probably won't)

...that i can spend all day staring at him and never grow tired of all the facial expressions he can make

...the way i've taken 700 pictures and we're only two weeks in

...and the way he loves us so unconditionally.

i cant believe I thought my life was complete pre-baby. what was i thinking?

" a day in the life of a joyful mama "

I love reading your blogs, its like i'm reliving my early days. My elliot is 17 weeks now and its amazing how much they change (having a 20 month old as well to compare to is remarkable.) As for the crib thing I totally agree. Elli has slept with me everyday for the past 17 weeks and I cant get enough. Randy eventually put our spare bed in the living room which is were he sleeps.
