i give thanks

this year we were blessed to celebrate thanksgiving twice, and until you move 900 miles away from your family you'll never understand just what a blessing it truly is. on sunday afternoon our life group at church met and had a great time, the women {with all the babies, mine in my belly} stayed inside and arranged the buffet full of potlucked items, while the guys hung out around two deep fryers with the turkeys. those who werent entertained by the boiling peanut oil headed to the back forty for a game of football. the evening ended over a game of apples to apples which I still haven't mastered.

on thursday brandon and i were invited to the moore's house for lunch/dinner. the moore's are our second family, they are truly the epitome of southern hospitality. miss glenda made the most delicious meal, none of which is native to the north, still hard to believe they don't have greenbean casserole, mashed potatoes, or pumpkin pie at thanksgiving. the friendship that i have with her has been so memorable. we really enjoy each other and i am so lucky to have her and her family in my life. hopefully, next year we will be with our family, if not though, i know of a place where the table will be set for an extra three.

preparations...

finally out of the "is she pregnant or just gaining a little weight" stage. thank you jesus, for elastic pants.

These little booties were given to baby abraham from grandma kate, they were daddy's.

the boy will be well-dressed. baby clothes shopping has become a new favorite hobby, any given saturday i can be found between four little boutiques in town rummaging through baby clothes racks, apon learing that baby is a "he" this hobby has become intensified.

our new obsession...we have been book shopping like crazy lately. which, you'll notice on registry contains more books than baby supplies.

the moses basket. an item i didnt think i would buy, when a woman in a department store {random shopper} stopped me to admire the belly {they do that in the south!} when she exclaimed what a lifesaver the moses basket was to her. it was the one item she couldnt live without. so, if you know me, you know that i am easily talked into purchasing things...so...i bought it. ross department store should hire her.

baby {boy} abraham

it's official, we're having a boy! we went to the doctor on October 27th.

i was anticipating a girl (shouldnt have fell victim to the old wives tales. i.e. fast heart rate, carrying high, sick for 5 months) so upon hearing the news of a little boy, i was heartbroken. however, that lasted only a second when i saw his face and heard his heartbeat again. brandon is very excited and is trying to talk me into naming the baby brandon jr. thankfully, he is just joking. the photo in the top left: baby's face, top right: baby's head and fingers, bottom left: baby's foot, and bottom right: baby boy. it was so unreal. i won't see him now until birth, as long as everything goes accordingly. we are just thankful and happy that he is healthy. we had our 24 week doctors appointment on november 25th and i was happy to hear that i have gained 6 pounds. i know, it sounds crazy that i am getting excited over gaining weight, however all i have done since becoming pregnant was lose weight. as of right now i'm 6 months pregnant and up 6 pounds, things are looking good. the baby is growing appropriately as well : ) he has been a very active baby in the last 3 weeks, sleeps during the day and keeps me up all night, its as if he is here already! after weeks of hearing me talk about him moving brandon finally felt him glide across my belly and beat on my tummy !! when asked how it feels my only response is: amazing, because there is nothing like it. i love having this little one inside me growing, i tell brandon every night "i want him to stay in me forever. right now he's safe, he goes everywhere i go, i don't have to worry about him."
